National Photography Exhibition & Contest on Khorramshahr

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - “The national photography contest and exhibition “Khoramshahr, the Epic of Resistance”? will be held on May 07 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the freedom of Khorramshahr,”? announced Mojtaba Aqayee. He continued to explain that the contest will take place in three sections: “Pre-war Khorramshahr”? “Khorramshahr during the war”? “Renovation and life in Khorramshahr”?. Other events of the program reportedly include: Paying tribute to sacred defense photographers, bestowment of courage medals on some photographers, exhibitions of the works of injured veteran photographers, scientific conference on “the findings of art in photography”? and a photography tour of Beytolmoqaddas operation zone for sacred defense photographers. Mojtabi Aqayee, secretary of the exhibition will work together with members of the selection board Aboutaleb Emam, Saeed Sadeghi, Bahman Jalali, Seifollah Samadian, Jasem Ghazbanpour and Sayed Abbas Hashemi to judge the works in the contest. Some 250 works will be selected from those submitted to the exhibition secretariat. The selected works will subsequently be published in a book. Aqayee added, “Each selected work in the first and second sections will receive 1,000,000 rials and each of the works selected in the third section will receive 500,000 rials merely for being selected for the exhibition.”? “According to the vote of the panel of judges, 3 photographers will be acclaimed in each section. These will receive a 2,000,000-rial award. Each of the 15 selected photographers will also receive a souvenir of the program along with 5,000,000 rials in cash. The deadline for the submission of works is Monday, March 19th. The selection and judgment of the works will be done in mid-April and the exhibition will be held concurrent with the anniversary of the freedom of Khorramshahr in May. The exhibition is being held by the Research and Public Relations unit of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans’ Affairs. The interested can send their works to the contest secretariat in Shohada Museum, Forsat St. Shahid Abbas Moosavi St. Taleqani Ave. Tehran, Iran.
