Saramago’s ‘Blindness’ Adaptation of Suhrawardi: Expert

Navideshahed- An Islamic Revolution literature expert asserted that José Saramago’s ‘Blindness’ is partly adapted from the works of Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the 6th Islamic Revolution Fiction Festival, Ali Reza Qazveh, director of the literary bureau of Howzeh Honari, asserted that a part of the novel ‘Blindness’ by Saramago should be adapted from the works of Suhrawardi.
Qazveh said he told Saramago the same personally several years ago in a Turkey visit where he was signing the Turkish translation of one of his works for the interested Turkish readers.
Qazveh further remembered the late Amir Hussein Fardi and described him as a prolific and forerunner Islamic Revolution activist whose works have been used as the source of many new-generation Islamic Revolution books.
He further asserted that many works have been published about the revolution in Iran after the demise of Fardi which should be attributed to his efforts before his death.
