Iran condemns Lebanon’s ‘terrorist’ attack

Navideshahed- Iran categorically deplored the recent “terrorist and inhumane”? bomb blast in northeastern Lebanon, saying such acts of terror are carried out to serve the Israeli regime’s interests.

“Undoubtedly, the terrorist move by Takfiri groups such as the al-Nusra Front and similar measures in Lebanon and in the region are in line with the interests and policies of the Zionist regime (of Israel),”? Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said.
She added that such terrorist measures are conducted “with the purpose of inflicting damage on national unity, stability and security of regional countries such as Lebanon.”?
The Iranian spokesperson said the Lebanese people as well as religious and political leaders of different tribes in this country are vigilant about plots by Lebanon’s enemies and would not allow the spread of instability.
Afkham also sympathized with the bereaved families of the blast and expressed hope for a full and speedy recovery of those injured.
At least four people were killed and over a dozen injured after a car bomb exploded in the mainly Shia populated border town of Hermel in northeastern Lebanon on Saturday.
The al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front claimed responsibility for the attack.
In a statement on Saturday, the UN Security Council condemned the bombing in northeastern Lebanon and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
The council urged the Lebanese people to “preserve national unity in the face of attempts to undermine the country’s stability.”?
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has also condemned the deadly car bomb attack in Hermel.
