The Islamic revolution multi volume calendar

The Islamic revolution calendar is collection of descriptive reports which are related to the events of Islamic revolution of Iran; specifically between the first of Farvardin 1356 (21st of March 1977) until the 22nd of Bahman 1357 (11th of February 1979).
The sources of this calendar are the printed media of those times (1977-1979) i.e. the magazines, newspapers such as Keyhan, Ettela’at, Aayandeganetc, as well as the print media of the period which followed the events of this period of time and which were printed inside as well as outside the country.

 Moreover a number of other documents and sources were also added to this calendar ranging from confidential bulletins of FARS news agency as well as the confidential bulletins of Iranian national radio and television, documents related to SAVAK -the intelligence bureau of those times, the city police, the gendarmerie and the local governmental institutions of various regions as well as the first hand memoirs of various people. 

In addition to these and to provide a picture of the perspective of non Iranians towards Islamic revolution of Iran, some contents were also selected and translated from a few book and magazines like Time, New York, Le Monde, Spiegel etc and have been added to the information database of this book.

         

The process of collecting the necessary material for the Islamic revolution calendar was first started in 1376 SH (1997 CE) and as the research gained pace, it was completed in about five years; and the collective amount of notes from various newspapers and documents and books and foreign sources reach a whopping 220 thousand notes taken from these sources. This collection is an ultimate result of efforts by a large number of researchers who provided their help and assistance to the office for the compilation of the history of Islamic revolution from 1371 SH (1992 CE) until 1385 SH (2006 CE).
The Islamic revolution calendar has been published by the SoorehMehr publication. It mainly portrays the events that took place between 5th until 8th of Bahman 1357 SH (25th till 28th of January 1979) and contains 393 pages which include 140 photographs regarding the subject. This book deals with the numerous political upheavals which occurred in Iran between the 5th and 8th of Bahman 1357 SH (25th - 28th of January 1979). These upheavals include the events such as the extensive coverage of speeches and ideologies of Imam Khomeini (R.A), and how the events related to the Islamic revolution of Iran were portrayed in the national and international media, the expansion of Imam’s welcoming committee and the closing of Iranian airports by ShapourBakhtiyar to prevent the return of Imam Khomeini to Iran.
