May 20, the Anniversary of Operation Imam Ali Start

“May 20 reminds us of the great and valuable military operation which was directed by the strong fighter of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Basii Naval Force, the brave men of the Army and the fighters of the irregular wars and the Jihadists of Constructional Jihad Organization. This military operation was launched in 1981 in the northern strip of Karkheh River and western side of Soosangerd war zone. This operation aimed to create active mobility in the war zones for the purpose of capturing the mountainous areas of Allah O Akbar at 4:00 o’clock in the morning. The operation began with the key code ‘Ya Rasull Allah’,”? The Assembly of Jihad and Martyrdom Elders of Sousangerd Warfront announced.

In the operation that was followed with the marvelous sacrifices of martyr commander Dr. Mustafa Chamran, the respectful commander of irregular wars, martyr major general Masoud Monfared Niyaki, the strong commander of the armored Army 92 of Khuzistan and martyr commander Hussein Bahrami, the strong commander of the battalion ‘Alam Al-Hoda’. The Iranian war veterans were able to capture the mountainous areas titled ‘Allah O Akbar’ and Shahiteh war zones. As a result 100 kilometers of the sacred land of Iran was saved from the occupation of the enemy. This land located in the north of Soosangerd and fortunately the Iraqi forces were pushed back from this war zone. Once again the Iranian forces raised the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran on this land.

Also about 500 occupiers were killed and injured and 700 of them were captured. Also tens of vehicles including armored vehicles and enemy equipments and munitions were captured as war booty.

The assembly of experienced man of Jihad and Martyrdom in Soosangerd battle in addition of remembering this fantastic epic and the multilateral unit of Iranian Islamic forces, it honors the remembrance and memory of the martyrs of this operation and it presents the highest level of respects and politeness to the survivors of those martyrs and it asks God to grant a higher greatness for the war veterans of Islam specially those war veterans who attended the Iran-Iraq war under the wise leadership of the supreme leader and the general commander of armed forces.
