Christian New Year [2011] with Christian Martyrs of Iran

Martyr Vazgen Avanesian, the Brave Armenian Combatant

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - Navideshahed introduces briefly the Christian martyrs of the imposed war of Iraq against Iran.

According to the reporter of Navideshahed; Martyr Vazgen Avanesian was born in Faridan City located in Isfahan Province in Ordibehesht Month of 1338 [April - May 1959]. He spent his childhood in his home town. Later, he moved to Tehran City along with his family.
He finished his primary school and high school in Tehran City. In Tir Month of 1358 [June - July 1980] he joined the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran for military service. After beginning of the imposed war and despite the fact that the military service of Martyr Avanesian had finished, he stayed in the battle fields and continued to fight with the Ba’thi enemy until the time he was martyred in the Spring of 1362 [1983]. During this period of time he stayed and fought in the battle fields as a volunteer soldier.
On the day of battle, he rushed to fight with the Ba’thi enemy with indescribable bravery. As his companions in his strong hold narrate, he fired few tanks of the enemy. And further, along with a number of his companions in war he was martyred due to shooting of a tank shell and hitting of shrapnel to his body.
His innocent body was transferred to Tehran City and was buried in the section of Martyrs of the Imposed War in the cemetery of Tehran. He was buried after holding special religious ceremonies for him.
Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran and the Then President attended his house unexpectedly on the first day of the New Year of 1985 [The evening of Tuesday, Dey 11th, 1363]. In his house, Hazrat ayatollah Khamenei visited and spoke with the parents and the other members of the family of this martyr and honored Martyr Vazgen Avanesian. Hazrat ayatollah Khamenei also honored and appreciated the presence of Armenian soldiers in the battle fields.
