Navideshahed: Written by Mohammad Badaghi, "The Mystery behind Karkheh Bridge", a narration of how Iranian fighters kept Kharkheh bridge in the second month of war by Brigadier General Saeid Pourdarab, is to be Published by IRI Army Publications soon.
Mohammad Badaghi in an exclusive interview with the reporter of Navideshahed announced this news and he added: ‘When the Imposed War of Iraq against Iran was started, Khorramshahr and Ahvaz cities were badly attacked by the Iraqi heavy fires and Karkheh Bridge located in the northern side of Khorramshahr was considered as a significant war zone for the belligerent governments.”
Badaghi continued: “Commander Brigadier General Pour Darab is still alive and he is one of the researchers of the Iran-Iraq war in the Army Ground Force Research Center.”
Mohammad Badaghi declared: “ In order to compile this book, I’m studying some of the outstanding literary works of the world and the superior books of the Sacred Defense Era.”
He added: “Masoud Pour Darab at the time of Iran-Iraq war era was the deputy of the brigade 1, Army 21 of Hamzeh Seyed Al-Shohada (AS) and he had the responsibility of preserving Karkheh Bridge and preventing the Iraqi forces from crossing that bridge. The mechanized armies of Iraq aimed to pass from this bridge in order to enter Khorramshahr city and then to enter Ahvaz city.”
This writer of the Sacred Defense Era emphasized on this issue that the importance of Karkheh Bridge at that time was so high and he said: “If Karkheh Bridge would be captured by the enemy at that time, the Iraqis would be able to take the control of Andimesh city so immediately too and their penetration in the land of Iran would take place so quickly. The book ‘The Mystery behind Karkhe Bridge’ has been narrated by Saeed Pour Darab and it consists of the procedure of preserving Karkheh Bridge up to October 31, 1980.
Badaghi added: “I have decided to use the forms of some books such as ‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’ written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, ‘The Secret of Chimneys’ written by Agatha Christie and ‘Da’ written by Seyed Azam Husseini and ‘I’m the killer of your son’ written by Ahmad Dehghan as a source for compiling the book ‘The Mystery behind Karkhe Bridge’.”
“In my opinion the total of these books is familiar to the book ‘War and Peace’; because this book is a combination of epic, suspension and excitement and the occurrence of new events. I believe that for the purpose of making the literature of the Sacred Defense everlasting, we should have and overview on the literary books and works of the world as well,” he added.
The writer of the book ‘Grandfather’ continued: “I will struggle so much to use a policy to absorb the readers to the memories of commander brigadier general Pour Darab in a way that they create a good relation with the book as well.”
He notified: “Compiling and writing the memories of some characters like commander brigadier general Pour Darab who is a writer of the Sacred Defense Era seems to be a very difficult work; that is why I have used his outlooks and viewpoints in order to compile the book too.”
Mohammad Badaghi at the end of his words emphasized on the importance of creating variety in the compiling the book ‘The Mystery behind Karkhe Bridge’ and he notified: “Some of the fantastic and marvelous poems related to the Sacred Defense Era and the photos of Saeed Darab Pour will be placed at the end of chapters existing in the book.”
