Islamic Awakening Fundamentals, Influenced by Imam Khomeini's Ideology

Navideshahed: Hussein Sheikh Al-Islam, the Adviser to the President of the Islamic Council of International Affairs pointed out to the position of Imam Khomeini’s thoughts and he said: “Being sourced from people, divine, independency seeking and anti-authoritarian and anti-imperialistic features of these movements are absolutely obvious and indeed they are the main principles which have been sourced from the thoughts of Imam Khomeini for founding the Islamic Revolution of Iran.”

According to Ommat News quoting IQNA, Hussein Sheikh Al-Islam on the threshold of Imam Khomeini’s demise anniversary regarding the Islamic Awakening in the thought of Imam Khomeini said: “The method of Imam for creation of revolution was really different in comparison to the previous methods which had been used before the revolution. In the previous methods for example in the uprising of Balshoki in Russia, China’s revolution and the revolution of Algeria, the revolution of Kuba and the Revolution of France, an liberation seeking army was the main pivot for the revolution. Therefore some experts could observe this issue, for example in Russia the workers will stand against the Tezar forces and in China the farmers would stand against the governmental forces…and the revolution would be shaped by the pivot of a main group and then they would be the winners as well.”

He declared: “But the method of Imam Khomeini was different in comparison to these methods due to two dimensions; the first dimension is that Imam Khomeini had mainly relied on people and their huge presence in the scene and the second dimension is his divine motivation for the people which would empower them. In the movement of people for creation of a revolutionary movement which this issue at the beginning of the work would be led to success and when the people came to the streets in the form of a million persons, at that time the motto ‘Cannon, tanks and guns are not effective anymore’ was realized.”

Hussein Sheikh Al-Islam added: “ In the Islamic Awakening also the most important issue was the presence of people in the scene and creation of changes by the people not only by a special group, but also by many people. In fact the revolution had been made by the all the people. What was observed in Tahrir square of Egypt and in Tunisia and other regions was the huge presence of people.”
The Adviser to the President of the Islamic Council of International Affairs declared: “The religious and Islamic dimension of these changes was sourced from the mottos of Allah O Akbar (God is great). Also the mosques and Friday prayers played a very significant role for creation of the protests and rallies by the people. Indeed the protests would be started after the public prayer in Egypt and this was exactly the method of Imam Khomeini.”

The Secretary General of the International Conference to Support the Intifada of Palestinian Nation notified: “This issue could be seen in other activities of Imam Khomeini as well. Also some other examples exist in this field including the guidance of Imam Khomeini in the Sacred Defense Era and standing against the United States of America in the issue of the previous U.S. Embassy in Iran known as the Spy Nest.”

He added: “The other issue is that the religion was separated from politics before Imam Khomeini’s revolution. Today some thinkers and scientists in the west have concluded that religion and meaning have been alongside with world and materials but they can not combine these two things and they have only defined the presence of both of them in a position and they confirm them as something separated from each other and it is the ultimate effort of them and they have accepted the presence of religion and meaning as well; while until this time specially during the governorship of the communists, the religion had been broken and it had been damaged and even the world of west also after the extremist era concluded that religion is a personal issue and politics is a social issue.”

Hussein Sheikh Al-Islam emphasized: “While Imam Khomeini combined religion and politics by the theory of Islamic Guardianship in great and powerful way and it was the work that the religious teacher of him martyr Modarres stated “Our religion is the same as our policy and our policy is the same as our religion.”

He continued: “It means that in our school, religion and politics, world and resurrection, materialistic and intellectuality have been combined. It means that the humans votes with the same motivation that he prays. The leader in this theory is both the religious and political leader which is elected by the assembly of experts. The movement is towards integrity of religion and politics and materialistic and intellectuality of the future for the world.”

Hussein Sheikh Al-Islam, the Adviser to the President of the Islamic Council of International Affairs at the end of his words stipulated: “I do not want to say that the movement of people in the Islamic Awakening has been 100 % the same as the Islamic Revolution of Iran. They have their own special civilization, history and culture and they go forward according to that as well. But these significant elements including being sourced from people, divine, independency seeking and anti-authoritarian and anti-imperialistic features of these movements are absolutely obvious and indeed they are the main principles which have been sourced from the thoughts of Imam Khomeini for founding the Islamic Revolution of Iran.”
