Chemically Injured IRGC Colonel Passes Away

Navideshahed: Chemically Injured IRGC Colonel Mehrab Mehrjou passed away Sunday night at Tehran's Baghiatallah Hospital.

The Head of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs in Andimeshk in an interview with a reporter of chemical-victims.com said: “This chemically injured patient was martyred on Sunday night in Baghiyatallah Hospital of Tehran city after 26 years tolerating the pains resulted from chemical weapons.”

Norollah Mir Aali continued: “The pure body of Mehrab Mehrju will be escorted today at 17:00 in front of his house towards the public graveyard of Andimeshk city and then it will be buried there.”

“After the funeral procession and burial ceremony, a commemoration will be held for this martyr on Monday at 19:00 in Abulfazl Husseinye," he added.

It should be noted that for the first time martyr Mehrab Mehrju was injured on June 25, 1986 during a military operation which took place in Majnoon Islands. During this attack a quiver hit his stomach and for the second time he was exposed to chemical weapons on March 17, 1988 due to inhaling the poisonous gases. This time, his lungs and skin faced with critical health conditions as well.”
