Islamic Awakening, Fighting Hegemons, Based on Morality

Navideshahed: The Islamic Awakening movement was formed after Muslims returned to the teachings of the Holy Quran, said a former member of the Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.

Speaking to IQNA, Parviz Soruri added that the fruits of the Islamic Awakening for the Muslim Ummah are gradually emerging.

He regarded the awakening as an asset for the Muslim world, saying that the regional tyrants for years served the interests of the Zionists and the global arrogance, but the Islamic Awakening is leading the region toward more support for the people of Palestine.

Soruri further referred to fighting on the basis of ethics and moral values as an achievement of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) line of thought, and said, “Imam Khomeini (RA) presented a new model for confronting the hegemonic system.”

He added that the model involves entering the fight while observing religious and moral principles.

“The world powers chose the Machiavellian model for obtaining their objectives, which has failed to deliver them the desired results, the former Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission member noted.

He said the models used by Muslims in the past were not in line with Islamic principles, either. “The Turks, Palestinians, Egyptians and Arabs in their fights against colonialism, hegemonic powers and the Zionist regime tried Pan-Turkism, Pan-Arabism, etc, but the results were mostly in the interest of the Zionists and arrogant powers.”

Soruri underlined that the Islamic Awakening has taken place due to Muslims’ return to the teachings of the Quran and Islam.

He further urged that politics (in the Muslim world) should move based on religious teachings.
