Imam, Worshipper Killed in Terrorist Attack on Dagestan Mosque

Navideshahed: Gunmen killed the imam of a mosque and a worshipper in the village of Karamakhi, the Buinaksk District of Dagestan, late on Thursday, the Dagestani Interior Ministry told Interfax.

"A group of armed men wearing masks broke into a mosque at about 11:40 p.m. They shot Imam Magomedkamil Gamzatov and one of the worshippers, set the building on fire and fled, stealing a car parked in the yard," it said.

The Investigative Committee department for Dagestan confirmed this information. "Both victims have died. A team of investigators is working at the scene," a department spokesperson said.
