The Islamic Awakening Tide, which began in Tunisia and spread to countries like Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen, Libya, Jordan and Morocco, has been ongoing for almost two years.

Study of Imam Khomeini’s (RA) thoughts shows that in fighting Iran’s monarchy, he had higher objectives than merely overthrowing the regime.

He saw the movement as not only aiming to liberate the Iranian nation from the hands of tyranny and colonialism, but mainly to unite the Islamic Ummah and turn the Muslim world into a world power against eastern and western superpowers.

Imam’s goal was not limited to geographical borders but went beyond Iran and even the Muslim world. Based on Shia teachings, he sought to liberate all the weak and oppressed nations of the world from the dominance of eastern and western superpowers.

That is why Imam Khomeini (RA) as well as urging for fight against tyranny, called for standing up against colonialism and arrogant powers.

Hence, in Imam Khomeini’s (RA) thought resistance is the keyword for getting free from the yoke of colonialists and arrogant powers as well as achieving self-confidence.

Thus, Imam Khomeini (RA) says with certainty that Islam will remove the big obstacles within and without, one by one, and will conquer the key positions in the world.

And now with the rise of the Islamic Awakening Tide, Imam Khomeini’s prediction has come true.
