A Rereading of Imam Khomeini

Navideshahed: The Grand Ayatollah Khomeini issued a message on May 23, 1982 and addressed the Iranian nation.

According to the ISNA Epic Culture Service, this message that is related to glorifying the war veterans of Islam and congratulation to Khorramshahr conquest was issued in Jamaran by the Grand Ayatollah Khomeini:

In the name of God

Thanks for the telegraph that has been done for me in order to announce the conquest of Khorramshahr. I really thank God that granted this blessing to the war veterans of Iran and provided this great victory for us. I believe in the verses of Koran which says it will save the hand of right power so that the country of Imam of the time has been rescued from the hand of puppets of the world superpowers specially the United States of America which is a real greedy country.

Thanks God that the voice of Allah O Akbar (God is great) was heard once again in Khorramshahr city also the flag of ‘There is no God Except Allah’ was raised in the heights of the city. This city had been occupied by the bloody enemy and this city was named as the city of blood due to the blood of many martyrs. I really thank all of those persons who sacrificed their lives in this path. For sure they will be thanked and appreciated by the rescuer of mankind and they will benefit of God blessing too.

I really congratulate this event and I express thousands of congratulations to you beloved persons. You are the lights of Islam’s eyes. This great conquest led to the taking back the city and the capture of thousands of captives and booties. Indeed thousands of Iraqi war veterans were captured in Khorrmahshar, those who had been deceived by the Tikriti Saddam who was the super criminal of the decade. The Iranian war veterans created a great pride by this victory for the Islamic Iran. I congratulate this victory to the great and powerful commanders. The commanders with their power and strength were some brilliant starts in the dark sky and they will always will be shinny. I congratulate the Iranian nation that raised such great children who defended their country so fantastically and they made their names and the name of their country everlasting. Also I congratulate the great Islam that in the two battles of war fought against the intellectual enemy and physical enemy and they got the winners of this tough exam and they created greatness for Islam.
And now you the children of holy Koran and the forces of the Army, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Basij, Gendarmerie, police stations, committees, farmers and volunteer people forces and the beloved nation, you should be aware, that although your victory is really great and marvelous, but you should not forget God at all and your prides and your conquest should not defeat you; in fact it could be considered as a big calamity and dangerous trap which is come to the humans with the devil temptations and it creates corruptions for humans; and although I’m sure that you are always committed to Islam, but still I would like to mention them once again because they are beneficial for the pious people and we should not ignore it at all; though I do my advices to the neighboring countries as well. They know that today by the conquest of innocent Khorramshahr, our government and victorious nation talks from the position of power. I also assure you if you give up obeying the United States of America and its allies and to behave us according to the percepts of the holy book ‘Koran’, you will see nothing from us except goodness and blessing. You should know that the superpowers support Saddam Hussein so much, because he is a hired man of them, but they won’t support you that you are smaller powers and weaker states. You have seen the result of this criminal and fellowman the overthrown Shah. The superpowers won’t support you more than what they use you and they will destroy you because of their advantages. I would like to give you a brotherly advice and you should not do something that the holy Koran book to consider a behavior against you and we behave you according to the demand of God. Therefore for sure you must know that some persons such as Honsi Mubarak from Egypt and Hussein from Jordan and the other criminals and their henchmen have no benefits for you and they will ruin your world and religion. If with your behavior and meetings want to revive the plan of David Camp that have died, we consider it as a big threat for Islamic countries specially the respectful shrines, Islam does not allow us to stay silent and I will do my divine commission in front of God. Now I raise my hands towards the creator of the world ‘God’ and I pray for the armed forces of Islam and the sacrificers of our country and I wish them health, fortune, happiness and victory.

I express my greatest and endless greeting to the committed commanders of the armed forces, to the war veterans, to the strong nation of dear Iran and to their happiness; God bless you.
