700 Basijis against Thousands of Iraqis

Eventually the result of fighting and struggles of the young commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army Ground Force was determined.

The sacred unity that Sayad was looking for it had been realized and the Army and Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps via a strong and belief coalition started their fighting in this operation since April 1982 and they got this great victory which became everlasting in the history of Iran and Iranians forever.

These are the narration of the sweetest moments of Sayad’s life…

I woke up and I thanked God. All the events which took place within more than 20 days are one side and this two hour is in another side.

It was 6:30 or 7:00 o’clock in the morning that they informed us that they have arrived Arvand River. The enemy had been badly surprised in a way that one of the Iraqi helicopters wanted to come to Khorramshahr in early morning and it did not know that there are Iranian forces in this city. So it was moving so comfortably with a height of 30 meters and at this time a Basiji force picked his R.P.G and shot it down. It seemed that he had coordinated with the photographer to film the scene and later this film was broadcasted.

It was 7:00 o’clock in the morning that I observed martyr Kharazi has stationed to the Khorramshahr earthwork. He was talking so excitedly and he said if I prepare 700 to 800 forces, will you allow me to enter Khorramshahr?

I recommended him to wait until our review and verification to be done.

We reviewed and discussed the issue. No one had a positive comment, but it would not be considered usefully professionally. It was not logical that we lose these 700 war veterans along with our strip. When we wanted to inform that the General Headquarters Staff of Karbala has opposed this issue, you don’t know what behavior motivated us; he was talking in a way that it seemed he was the commander.

We saw that we can not convince him at all. I and commander Rezaei were convinced that we should leave it until 7:30. Once again we observed that he was announcing the situation once again. They went there and after that they contacted us. We said: what is news? They said: As we look at this city, we can see that the Iraqis have raised their hands as a sign of surrender. Now we had noticed what they meant. He meant that what should these 700 war veterans to do with this population?

He said: If it is possible send a helicopter to check the real number of Iraqi captives.

We sent a helicopter there. I wish the voice of that pilot had been recorded.
