The Conquest of Khoramshahr was a Perfect Display of the Futility of Material Powers against the Power of Faith

Navideshahed: The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps through a statement considered the conquest of Khorramshahr as a national power manifestation and generating a permanent deterrent of Iranian power and displaying the material weakness against the power of faith.

According to Fars News Agency, in a section of the statement which has been issued for the purpose of honoring May 23, the anniversary of Khorramshahr liberation and the national day of resistance is written: “The victorious military operation of Beitol Moghadas and Khorramshahr freedom got its result on May 23, 1982 in the political and military scene of the 8 year war. Also it led to some future changes in the Middle East.

It created concerns and anxiety for the United States of America and the powers which would support Saddam Hussein, the Baathist- Zionist regime of Iraq.

This statement has added: “There is no doubt that when the Iraqi Baathist regime had been defeated, the superpower of the world and the global allies of Saddam Hussein would not consider themselves as the supporters of this regime, but the procedure of war in May 1982 and by the conquest of Khorramshahr and pushing back the occupiers led to the victory of Iranian nation and the defeat of the Iraqi Baathist regime. So this victory of Iran caused some strategic changes in the political- security geography of the region.

This statement points out to the military operation ‘Beitol Moghadas’ and conquest of Khorramshahr and it indicates the weakness and uselessness of materialistic powers against the power of faith, intellectuality and sacrifices and it emphasize: “The aware resistance of the strong nation of Iran during the eight year war of Sacred Defense, is a great experience and role models in the scenes dealing with the brave Iranian solidarity in trans-regional threats and enemies and foreigners. Also rereading and remembering it can promote the deterrent power of faith and human capacities of defense in the land of God.”

This statement by mentioning the key and destiny maker factors in the victory of ‘Beitol Moghadas’ and ‘Khorramshahr Freedom’ operation after 578 days and it stipulated: “Benefiting from the thoughts and strategic solutions of Imam Khomeini, the spirituality ruling and the revolutionary morale in the battles, superior thought and creativity and initiatives in designing the operation and using the war veterans in the best form possible as an ambitious point of unity, the synergy and integration among the forces of Army, Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, Basij and Constructional Jihad Organization was the same as a united Army who had the same objective and goal and by their determination against the enemy army and Saddam’s military machine, they made the enemy surprised in all the strategic and tactical levels during this operation.”

This statement points to the need of knowing the hidden angles of this great epic which took place on May 23 and the conquest of Khorramshahr and its role in following up the objectives of revolution and development of Islamic Iran after the Sacred Defense Era and stipulates: “The excellent and regional situation and today’s trans-regional and influential role of Iran specially in the field of Islamic awakening and being away from the world domination indeed are due to the resistance and sacrifices of Islamic war veterans during the 8 year of Sacred Defense Era specially the epics and sacrifices that were performed during the military operation of Khorramshahr and liberation of this city.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps at the end of this statement honors the memory and remembrance of Imam Khomeini and the sacrificers of the eight year Sacred Defense Era and it emphasizes on the multilateral preparedness of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps and the strong Basijis to honor the ambitions and findings of revolution and Islamic system and fighting against the threats of foreigners and the devil powers.

It mentions that there is no doubt that the conquest of Khorramshahr with its amazing dimensions and angles and the capacity of its intellectual potential and value for always will be able to be a model for the Iranian nation and also the liberal nations who seek justice in the field of encountering the arrogance and colonial superpowers which will assure their successes as well.
