Professor of Fine Arts Faculty of Tehran University Said:

Contemporary Art of Iran Is Mixed with Self Sacrifice and Martyrdom Values

Art Is the Most Influential Way to Make Epic of Sacred Defense and Islamic Revolution Known

TEHRAN, (SCIB) - Professor of Fine Arts Faculty of Tehran University said: “Inspiring from values of Islamic Revolution as well as historical and cultural values, painters have created admirable works during Islamic Revolution and sacred defense. And they have made efforts to present acceptable art works.”

According to the reporter of Navideshahed; Dr. Abdolmajid Hosseini Rad announced the above in an interview with Navideshahed and said: “Art was one of the most influential factors in victory of Islamic Revolution.”
He added: “Artists, before Islamic Revolution and after Islamic Revolution, made efforts to preserve and make it stable. And they created considerable art works.”
He further referred to the speech of the Supreme Leader about durability of art works and said: “Art and its wonderful effect on society is one of the miracles during the recent century. Focusing more on the speech of the Supreme Leader that says “No thought will remain durable except in the form of art”, the role of art in making culture is clarified.”

This contemporary painter further said: “Noticing the concepts of martyrdom and self sacrifice has given a different and native character to our contemporary conceptual and revolutionary art. Our national and religious identity based on Islamic belief has been always noticed in history and art of Iran. And it showed its biggest appearance in sincerity of combatants who defended Islamic homeland.”
He further referred to holding the exhibition of Art of Self Sacrifice and publishing the book “Flight of Resistance” and said: “I am so happy that Research Deputy of “Martyr Foundation and Isargaran Affairs” is seriously following up activities related to art and prepares artistic facilities to show great values of martyrdom and self sacrifice. And I congratulate this foundation for paying attention to the subject of self sacrifice and martyrdom.”

This professor of Fine Arts Faculty of Tehran University further added: “By paving grounds for creating art works in the form of holding exhibitions and publishing books, “Martyr Foundation” makes efforts to transfer the heritage of martyrs from hands of artists to Iranian people and interested people in foreign countries. Noticing great capacities of art necessarily requires special elegance; but Research Deputy of “Martyr Foundation” has made efforts to notice the subject of self sacrifice and martyrdom from the point of view of art. Although this foundation has been successful in achieving mentioned objectives, it is expected that executive administrations of the country learn this experience from this foundation. And they should make efforts in line with honoring epic, resistance and victory of brave men of our country using the durable language of art.”

In conclusion, Hosseini Raad emphasized on the necessity of establishing the museum of Islamic Revolution Art and said: “I hope that a glorious heritage remains for future generations by publishing such books.”
It should be mentioned that “Shahed Publication” has recently published three valuable books of photographs, paintings and visual arts under the titles of “A Window to Heaven’s Garden”, “Khoramshahr, Epic of Resistance” and “Flight of Resistance”.
